the stories included cover a variety of Christmas inspired
themes, both secular and non-secular with writers ranging from
beloved classics by Charles Dickens and Hans Christian Andersen
to seven original stories and adaptations created specially for
this book.

What is Advent? |
|
Advent and Advent Calendars
have been a favorite
tradition in Europe for
centuries. Advent is
derived from the Latin
advenio and means 'to come
to' and the season is
about preparing for the
birth and the arrival of the
Messiah, Jesus Christ.
In the
Western churches Advent is
celebrated in church during
the four Sunday's leading up
to Christmas. It's
common, especially in the
Catholic and Lutheran
Churches for children to
have an Advent Calendar
beginning December 1st to
mark off the days until
Christmas.
